DRUMCHAPEL AMATEURS

Drumchapel Amateurs has an unrivalled history as a club that produced some of Scotland’s greatest teams and most successful youth teams. Everybody connected with the club is rightly proud of past achievements but equally proud of the club’s current achievements and standing in Scottish football and excited by what we hope to become in the future.

Drumchapel Amateurs today consists of 16 teams, from the Little Lions Academy right up to the senior amateur side who reached the 2020 Scottish Amateur Cup final which was played in May 2022, due to lock down restrictions. We have around over 300 players, from age three through all youth levels up to a Walking Football section where some of our most experienced players compete.

Drumchapel Amateurs is a name famous throughout Scotland and beyond but it is also a club proud to have roots in the local community and synonymous with the Clydebank and Drumchapel areas.

CHARLIE
CHARLIE DEVLIN - Chairman
CHRIS MALONE - Amatuer Team Manager
PAUL MACARTHUR- GK Coach
LAURA STEWART - Club Secretary - 2010 Secretary
LEE ANNE ELSBY - COVID Co-ordinator - 2014 Secretary
JOANNE DOHERTY - Child & Wellbeing Officer

Having been involved with the 2010 age group for a few years in the capacity of Team Secretary, the SYFA adopted a new system whereby a club Secretary had to be appointed to over see the registration of all youth teams and I volunteered to do this role

Since taking on the role I have been instrumental in securing a new partnership with Clydebank Community Sport Club.  I have worked with the SFA to develop the club and gain accreditation of the Quality Mark.  The SFA have given me the opportunity to work towards an ILM in Developing your community club which I hope my learning from this will enable myself and the other members of the club to further develop our club.

We have recently become members of Sported, a charitable organisation who work with community clubs to provide professional expertise, resources and operational support.

I’m looking forward to what the future holds for Drumchapel Amateurs.
