OUR FACILITIES

Glenhead Park

Glenhead Park a.k.a “The Hibby” is home to Drumchapel Amateurs FC and where the Senior Amateur team play their home fixtures.  The ground was formerly owned by Duntocher Hibs but when their pavilion was destroyed by a fire the club was wound up as they were not insured.

Drumchapel Amateurs bought the ground for £1,200.  Unfortunately, as the club was deemed a Glasgow club based in West Dunbartonshire neither local authority were willing to help.  Things looked bad until Rangers FC came to the rescue and the new pavilion was built with their help along with a small grant from the Education Department.

The new ground was opened in 1969 and later development saw the clubroom turned into a social club to help raise funds for the football club.

The Glenhead Social Clubs primary function is to promote the activity of Drumchapel Amateurs FC.

We offer a friendly environment to come along and socialise with members of both the social club & the football club.

The club is currently run by a volunteer social committee which David Henry is chair.
We are thankful to all members of the committee for the smooth running of the club.

Since the new committee was appointed there have been several improvements to the club, both culturally and aesthetically and during lockdown the team of volunteers at the club worked tirelessly to refurbish the beer garden in order to provide an attractive outdoor area and viewing deck.

Clydebank Community Sport Hub

In 2018, Drumchapel Amateurs entered into a partnership with Clydebank Community Sport Hub.
Following a £4m investment CCSH boasts a full-size and floodlit all-weather synthetic pitch, a grass park, a sports hall, Dojang, social space with a kitchen and bar and has six team changing rooms.
“The Hub” opened its doors in October 2018 and since opening has seen over 300 drum players, play and train on the pitch every week all year round.

The Hub’s values are Community, Inclusion, Respect, Health & Well Being all values that Drumchapel Amateurs recognise as fundamental in the way our club is run.
Drumchapel Amateurs are delighted to part of such an amazing facility. We recognise that most of the planning and preparation of the facility was well under way before we got involved.

However, we hope that our commitment and dedication to the facility will allow The Hub to grow and be a sustainable and viable venture that The Drumchapel are proud to be part of.  We extend our thanks to the Staff Team, The Manager, Chris Caldwell, and the Board of Directors for their continued support.
